GRASS-FED TALLOW AND THE HUMAN SKIN

GRASS-FED TALLOW AND THE HUMAN SKIN

We decided to start a blog for education and instructional purposes. We have a lot to share, and there's a lot most people don't know about skin care. But before we talk about all the great benefits of our flagship ingredient, we need to discuss a bit about the science behind what we do.

THE SCIENCE

The human skin is amazingly designed. Embedded into the skin are pockets of natural moisture - also known as a sebaceous gland. These glands contain and release a nutrient-rich oil called sebum, which is multi-functional. Without coincidence, sebum also means tallow, in Latin.

Sebum is a uniquely designed to be moisturize, protect, and lubricate our skin. While these glands are located all over our body, they're not found in 4 places:
  1. lips
  2. palms of hands
  3. soles of feet
  4. just beneath the eyes

UNIQUELY COMPATIBLE WITH THE HUMAN SKIN

Much of the dry, cracked skin we experience in these areas, is due to the lack of presence of sebaceous glands. But this is where we come in! We handcrafted a grassfed tallow balm that is nearly identical in composition to the natural sebum our skin produces and secretes, so that our lips, hands and feet stay nourished and hydrated. And more, our Whipped Tallow Butter Balm products are specifically designed for whole body moisture.

READILY ABSORBED, LASTING MOISTURE

This is the distinguishing point of Balm of Gilead - The result is an intensive moisturizing balm, that is formulated to be non-greasy, and yet, readily absorbed into our skin and with lasting effects on dry skin, where others have failed.

We'd encourage you to feel the difference yourself!
